Careers in Care

What it is really like to work as a carer at Premald

Training, supervision, rotas and progression — an honest look at the job before you apply.

Premald Registered Manager2 min read

Care work is skilled work. It rewards patience, observation and reliability far more than it rewards speed — and we recruit on that basis.

Your first month

  • Paid induction training before any solo visit
  • Shadow shifts with an experienced carer
  • A named supervisor you can call any time
  • A rota shared in advance so life outside work is possible

Progression

Senior carer, medication champion, dementia lead and coordinator roles are all filled internally wherever we can, with funded qualifications along the way.

Experience is welcome, but not essential. Character comes first, and the rest is trained.
